PostHeaderIcon is CMS for you?

to be or not to be...

That really IS the question. CMS is a commonly used term and stands for 'Content Management System'. While it is more commonly used term, there is still a valid point for whether or not YOU need this type of web solution. This article came about from a conversation with a potential client recently and we hope it answers the question for you.

  • do you have a lot of content you want to manage?
  • Do you want to be able to update your site often, quickly and from different locations?
  • Do you want to offer an e-commerce solution from your site?
  • Will you want to be able to offer any of the above within the next 6-12 months?

The OurMart website that you are looking at right now has been put together using Joomla! Content Management Solution www.joomla.org. It is very simple to manage if you are moderately competent at using a computer (moderate would suggest that you could put together a Word or similar document or use a simple spreadsheet!) So if the answer to any of the questions above is 'YES, then we'd recommend going with the CMS option.
The magic is in creating a CMS site that doesn't just look like every other CMS out there and at OurMart we do this by being a little bit obsessed and adding in some java script effects and lots of nice design!

Can you do it yourself?

Abso-bloomin-lutely!

But then, would you fix your own teeth or get a professional to do it for you?

let the web designers design websites. DIY often looks like DIY!
